The Future of Tibetan Leadership

- Insights on His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Succession

This year in July, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama will celebrate his 90th birthday, a significant milestone not only for the Tibetan community but also for those who cherish his teachings on peace, compassion, and human rights. As a prominent spiritual leader and a symbol of the Tibetan struggle for autonomy, His Holiness has profoundly influenced the global dialogue on democracy, religious freedom, and non-violence.

With this panel discussion the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom aims to delve into several pivotal topics surrounding the future of Tibetan leadership following His Holiness’s eventual succession: What Comes Next After His Holiness? Understanding the potential pathways for leadership transition and the implications for the Tibetan community. Analyzing how the succession could influence the political landscape of Tibet and its relationship with the international community. Discussing the traditional beliefs surrounding reincarnation and the challenges that may arise during this process, particularly in the context of Chinese interference. Exploring strategies for the Tibetan community to navigate its relationship with China post-succession, including advocacy efforts, international support, and grassroots initiatives.

We would be delighted if you would be an active part of this event and would like to discuss the topics with us.
